Established in 2007, the company “Muskan” meaning smile started with a simple mission to take on all the hardships of life with a smile by uplifting womanhood and entrepreneurial skills of women in the Nepalese community. It started with the idea of a single woman -the founder Mrs. Kumari karki Dangol to support her first employee no matter the losses, and now it has blossomed into what it is today. It started with manufacturing baby sets to bedsheets using imported textiles. Mrs. Kumari Karki chose to train mostly women who had no higher education background or from a struggling background and then hired them to work that is why out of our 18 employees only 3 are men. We here at Muskan enterprises understand by uplifting women of our community, will then be able to uplift a nation as women are the foundation of a strong nation.

After the blockade of 2015, Nepal faced huge problems as most of the goods were imported. We saw there was a huge supply and demand crisis. Hence, now the company is focused not only on production using imported goods but providing/experimenting with native textiles for quality bedding, unique home deco goods, possibly even in garment sector which will definitely promote Nepali culture, preserving the tradition and generating employment. The vision we carry is to create a self-sustainable business model which doesn’t rely on politics and government barriers ensuring the core team is always provided with steady work. The business is supplying basic home furnishing products such as bedsheets, seasonal quilts, fibers and more through online services, retail stores as well as department chains throughout Nepal.
