Sour fruit called Lapsi (Choerospondias axillaris – Nepali Hog Plum). The tree has long been cultivated in rural Nepal for its fruit. The whole fruit is boiled to remove the skin. It is then cooked along with traditional spices, sugar, salt and red chili powder giving it a distinct hot and sweet flavour.
