Based in Kathmandu, Sagarmatha Knitting Industries produces luxurious and well-crafted knitwear using the regions finest yarns. Founded by Anita Basnyat in 1992 the pursuit of quality and the empowerment of local women has been our mission for over three decades.

Since our inception, we have employed several women from the Nepali communities we love. These women share their exquisite craftsmanship with the world – and build livelihoods – through our two signature brands, Sa Lana and Tamasha.

Sa-Lana democratizes style and luxury through fashionable, high quality and affordable knitwear pieces using wide variety of yarns including acrowool, cotton, cashmere, merino and yak wool.

Tamasha, an expression meaning “joyful ruckus” captures the essence of our cashmere knitwear label – fun, versatile and colorful. Our signature Cashmere pieces are handcrafted in Nepal from the finest Cashmere wool in the region, which are well designed, luxury basics at a accessible prices and this is what we specialize in.
