CHILDREN-Nepal is a non-profit, non-government, social and guaranteed fair trade organization that works to promote the rights, welfare, and development of marginalized children living on the margins of society. It works directly with children and their families, helping them to break away  from the effects of discrimination based on caste, disability, gender and social status, CHILDREN-Nepal (CN) was founded in 1995 by a group of Nepali professionals working in the fields of education is was health and social service who were also child labors during their childhood, They were concerned about the number of children living on the margins of society, out of reach from existing social institutions, The parents of these children had no choice but to leave home all day attempting to earn little, if any pay. This situation deprives children the ability to attend school or enjoy the games of their peers, Beings, doing household work or odd jobs in hotels and restaurant just to survive. In this way they are forced on to the streets, and exposed to violence and crime, Most of the children suffer from some form of physical and /or mental health problems.

CHILDREN-Nepal also runs a Suryamukhi Handicrafts and it has been a guaranteed member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), WFTO-Asia and Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTG-N). Suryamukhi Handicrafts has been striving to empower disadvantaged and low income women by way of developing their vocational skills in sewing, stitching and embroidery. The women of Suryamukhi Handicrafts have an opportunity to earn a fair wage & improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. This allows them to become socially and economically self-reliant. Suryamukhi Handicrafts offers a variety of textile based Handicrafts that are environmentally friendly, high quality and fairly priced including hand puppets, stuffed toys dolls, bag packs and small bags, Aprons, T-shirt and cases, accessories, children’s costumes, Cotton Mask, decor items and many more.
